Nashville Prayer Update!

Friends and Family, Hello! Sorry (again) for the big gap between my last update and this one. Our days have been jam-packed full with learning more about who God is and who He has called us to be. This update is going to be a shorter one, but be on the lookout for one or two longer ones in the next couple of weeks! God is continuing to reshape my heart every single day, and I can not wait to share it all with you! We are finally getting to go to Nashville for our church plant trips TODAY (Friday 6/25), and we are PUMPED! We will be there serving Proclamation Church and the community surrounding it from Saturday, 6/26 to Saturday, 7/3. We are just one of six teams on City Project that are in desperate need of your prayers starting now! We have students and Summit staff going to Indianapolis, Denver, DC, Brooklyn, Miami, Orlando, and St. Louis. Below are a few things we are asking for prayer for: 1) That we would be led by the Spirit to put Jesus first. We are going to be doing a lot of laboring for the advancement of God's kingdom, meaning it is going to be very easy to fall into the trap of thinking that takes the place of our solitude time with God. Ask that God would continue to light a fire in our hearts for being with him and that what we learn in the Word each day would overflow into how we interact with those around us. 2) That our team would be marked with unity. We know that the enemy is going to be on the prowl trying to tear us apart with things like comparison, envy, and anything and everything in between. Ask that God would give us the courage to continuously point one another back to Him and what his Word says; pray that He would give us the strength to love one another the way that He loves us. 3) That we would be able to serve the city well. We are going to be prayer walking, evangelizing, working with kids from Urban Promise, and serving the leaders at this church plant in whatever ways we can help. Ask that God would continue to remind us of Acts 20:24 that says, "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace." Ask that we would not get discouraged if we do not see fruit, and that we would just continue to be faithful to what God has called us to. Pray that Proclamation Church would feel encouraged and lifted up by us being there. 4) Pray specifically for our brothers and sisters going to Miami. With the building that just collapsed, there are so many heavy hearts right now, but what a great time to share the Gospel with these people. They are going to be doing a relief project in Miami and really loving on the community there. As they do this, ask that God would give them the courage and strength to be faithful in sharing the good news with that community and loving on them because of how God loves us. That is all that I have for you right now. We are so expectant to see how God is going to continue to move in each of our hearts during this time, and I am thankful to have you as a partner in this work that He is doing. He is worthy of all the praise! Love and Blessings, Katie Parler
